@Drlipid Especially if you’re a non CRP responder and have an inflammatory autoimmune disease and they dismiss your concerns for years and call it osteoarthritis
@markkaplan20 How many had prior high LDL before treatment, diet changes, or statins lowered it? Lifetime exposure matters.
Did this study measure Lp(a)? High Lp(a) can drive atherosclerosis even when LDL appears normal. Also, LDL targets today are far lower than 130.
@MohammedAlo Elite athlete here. Fitness does all kinds of wonderful things but it’s not an invincibility cloak if you have extremely high genetic lp(a). Fitness won’t stop Lp(a) from accelerating plaque formation or causing an acute clot if that plaque ruptures.
@BritToSwiss Beautiful! What is the clearance between the counter to the cabinets? Do you have one 60 cm refrigerator/freezer combo? Your home is timeless! I ❤️ it!
@VeloMon_Cycling@100Climbs I’m not sure it’s just about better construction. Switzerland also maintains roads very proactively—often on a schedule—(budgets incentivize spending)so they rarely get the chance to deteriorate. On the flip side, constant roadwork isn’t always fun either. Still lovely to ride.
After a very hard winter… still keeping the passion alive.
Heading up a very familiar Pico de las Nieves with a ton of happiness in my heart.
Gran Canaria, you were exactly what I needed.

@richroll If you’re over 60 is it true muscle becomes less sensitive to protein?(“anabolic resistance”)and therefore one would need to go higher than 1.2g of protein? Do Endurance athletes that also strength train also require more protein as they age? Honest ?’s.
@Paddy_Barrett “Eat well and walk” doesn’t fix Lp(a).
For millions, risk is genetic—and getting to “normal LDL” often requires more than lifestyle.
Don’t forget the people lifestyle alone won’t help.
Would love to see Lp(a) and ApoB testing included in these conversations.
@DrBPHealth I was referring specifically to Lp(a), not FH.
Lp(a) is genetic, largely unaffected by lifestyle, and elevated in ~20% of people—not ~1%.
Worth distinguishing.
Sanetsch pass
The Sanetsch is the finest pass you have never heard of! At 26km in length and with a difference in altitude of 1690m it will always remain one of my favorite’s! Cheers to a beautiful day.
Vive la France! A discarded TdF L’equipe on top of a mountain, a half eaten baguette and 8’000+ ft of elevation gained made for a pretty fantastic day.
