@tesol81 He reached a point of critical mass sometime after his Yokozuna bid failed where his weight became too great for his slowly declining sumo body to accommodate. After he fell from Ōzeki, he was often defeated by more agile opponents. But at his peak, little could stop him.

@SumoZeki I relate some. I'm still excited for the basho, but having so many withdraws at the start takes a little of the initial excitement out. I dont get quite as enthralled with "the next ozeki" as most. I am so excited for the new guys in their debuts. Is a shame though about Kiri.

I’d like to know more about Kotomitsuki. I’ve seen him properly outclass Hakuhō on the belt at least a couple of times, but obviously he was never able to maintain the consistency required to reach the top. What were the holes in his game?
