My grandfather spent his 20s fighting for his life in a concentration camp in Kraków.

Both my parents spent their 20s fighting in trenches in the Middle East, as was required of them by law.

Hiring more people of color doesn’t dismantle structural racism within an organization. A white dominant organization could hire 100 people of color but if the policies and the practices stay the same, that’s 100 more people that can be harmed by them. 1/2

This summer many confederate and colonial statues came down. Today the life-sized statues of 6 women, devoted to inspiring young girls to pursue careers in STEM and giving them tools to succeed go up at @TheWCS NY @centralparkzoo. I am so deeply honored to be one of those women.
