After a visit to #AlArish last week, we have now published our new report on the health & humanitarian situation in #Gaza. Read our Chair @SarahChampionMP comments and the report here: https://t.co/ouT8AsCqpn
@JoyceOnstad@LibDems Respect Joyce! People of principle so rare in politics and so important. Genocidal actions should always be called out. A call for ceasefire should be a shout, not a whisper. Hope to see lots more of you in public sphere in future. Don’t go away!
Lord Purvis, "UNICEF have said that 600,000 children have been displaced in Rafah, that is comparable to the entire under 12 population of Scotland being displaced to one post code area.. Asking children to relocate to a place where there is no shelter, no water, no medicine, and no security guarantees, is a war crime"
David Cameron, "The people who are in Rafah have moved 3, 4 or 5 times, it is not possible to move. They can't go north because homes have been destroyed. They can't go south because that would involved going into Egypt. That is why it is important the Israelis stop and think before going ahead with any operations in Rafah"
🧵 Just got off the phone to a relative in Israel. An update on the situation from their perspective. First off the bat, despite the Govt and it's client media's onslaught of propaganda the most success Israel has with the hasbara is largely abroad amongst media and politicians.
HAPPENING NOW: Hundreds of Jews are blockading the @POTUS motorcade as it attempts to reach a fundraiser on the Upper East Side, calling on the President — in his first New York City appearance since the crisis in Gaza began — to stop funding Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.
“We are shocked by the reckless decision to cut a lifeline for an entire population by some of the very countries that had called for aid in Gaza to be stepped up and for humanitarians to be protected while doing their job." - @oxfamgb#UNRWA#Gaza https://t.co/aW7ell06NG
Happy to report that this video garnered more than 100,000 views within the first couple of hours on IG.
Over the last 111 days, since October 7, Isræl has consistently denied targeting civilians. Well, in this video, I am going to show you that in the history of its occupation, not only does Isræl actively target civilians, but they specifically target children.
More importantly, I explain why they do it.
We all have been collectively forced to observe the core of unmitigated and unbounded state terrorism carried out by Isræl, shielded by the sponsorship of the wide majority of the Global North, their governments, and their media. The institutionalized Isræli policies that involve the actions of killing, maiming, abducting, abusing, jailing, and r@p!ng children has yet to be brought to the forefront of Western consciousness.
I hope this video helps create said consciousness.
Thank you for interacting with and sharing this video widely; thank you for working towards a world where such crimes are not only morally condemned but also carry tangible penalties.
Onwards.
PS: Thank you to @Patrick_Baz for the inspiration and the permission to share his extraordinary photos
As anti-Zionist Jews, we’re doing everything we can to stop the Israeli government’s genocide in Gaza and stand in solidarity with Palestinians struggling for their freedom. We all have a part to play when it comes to ending Israeli apartheid and oppression. 🧵
ISRAEL EXPOSED BY MEDIA
Mainstream media coverage of the litany of horrors in #Gaza reached a turning point this week, with major outlets finally revealing the scope of Israel's genocidal barbarity and dehumanizing propaganda.
These pull quotes are from articles in the past 48 hours:
◼️ NYT: Israel’s war in Gaza is killing women and children at a faster pace than in almost any other conflict in the world this century.
◼️ NYT: During the first six weeks of the war in Gaza, Israel routinely used one of its biggest and most destructive bombs in areas it designated safe for civilians.
◼️ CNN: U.S. intelligence sources told CNN that 40-45% of the 29,000 air-to-surface munitions dropped on Gaza were so-called dumb bombs, unguided munitions that can pose a greater threat to civilians.
◼️ AP: More than half a million people in Gaza — a quarter of the population — are starving, according to a report Thursday by the United Nations and other agencies.
◼️ AP: The report released by 23 U.N. and nongovernmental agencies found that the entire population in Gaza is in food crisis, with 576,600 at catastrophic or starvation levels.
◼️ AP: "It doesn’t get any worse," said Arif Husain, chief economist for the U.N.’s World Food Program. "I have never seen something at the scale that is happening in Gaza. And at this speed."
◼️ CNN: Marc Garlasco a former US defense intelligence analyst and former UN war crimes investigator, said the density of Israel’s first month of bombardment in Gaza had "not been seen since Vietnam."
◼️ NYT: Civilians have virtually no safe places to hide or ways to escape ... family trees dismembered, whole branches of them obliterated.
◼️ WAPO: "Some 1.9 million people, 85 percent of the Gaza population, have been forced from their homes," Guterres said. He added that the dead have included 136 U.N. aid workers.
◼️ WAPO: The evidence presented by the Israeli government falls short of showing that Hamas had been using the al-Shifa hospital as a command and control center
◼️ AP: WHO relief workers reported "unbearable" scenes in two hospitals: Bedridden patients with untreated wounds crying out for water, the few remaining doctors and nurses having no supplies, and bodies being lined up in the courtyard.
◼️ CNN: CNN partnered with US AI company Synthetaic to detect craters, smoke plumes and damaged buildings. The findings “reveal and emphasize the sheer intensity of the bombardment over a very short period of time."
◼️ CNN: Weapons and warfare experts blame the extensive use of heavy weaponry, such as the 2,000-pound bomb for the soaring death toll ... Most of the dead are women and children.
