@PaulConnollyNI Thanks! No these aren’t lined. But the soil is quite heavy on clay so should be some natural retention, and we expect the level to move a bit with the level of rainfall.
One of two wildlife ponds that are being dug here this week, with several more to follow. Given the rainfall we’ve had of late they are almost full already! Might look like a muddy mess just now, but give it a couple of months and they will begin teeming with life.
Announcing our first herbal workshop! Intro to herbalism, guided walk to forage for herbs, followed by prepping your own herbal remedies to take home. Led by experienced herbalist Andy Comley. Sat 9 April, 10-3, £55 pp. Only 10 places! booking via email to [email protected]
Huge thanks to our friends and #volunteers we have now planted over 17,500 saplings since we first started about 14 months ago. This is an important intervention in a #rewilding plan to kick start the diversity in the fields. We can’t wait to see how this landscape evolves.
Very interesting visit to Sunart Fields at #WhaleyBridge. One of the biodiversity net gain pilot sites. 120 acre farm with a blend of rewilding and nature-friendly farming. Valuable model for small medium farms interested in BNG funding. https://t.co/tBLtdad90Z
Just completed the first draft of our @RewildingB response to the government response to the Glover Review of Protected Landscapes (yes I know 😂) and now I’m passing through the @peakdistrict National Park. No prizes for guessing what our response will focus on.
