Entire roads in North Carolina are washed out and people are without a way to get out of their driveways, no power, little to no communication, AND OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS DOING NOTHING. OUR MEDIA IS BARELY ACKNOWLEDGING THIS DISASTER.
Our country is like a ship lost at sea with nobody steering. They need to HELP THESE PEOPLE!

I don't usually get personal here, but the hurricane took out part of my family's home, trapped my grandparents on their farm with no power or service, and completely wiped off the map the town where I *just* got married. Please don't forget Appalachia when talking about Helene.
i stopped regretting certain relationships/connections when i realized that each person i encountered brought me closer to myself in some way. even if it ended "badly" i learned valuable lessons that taught me more about who i am or who i don't want to be.
