My friend @TheRealV_Art has opened commissions in her Vgen, and guys Iβm in love with the concept illustrations! If youβre into Greek Mythology or are a devotee of the gods, take a look at it!

@Heliotrophy I really hope they get in the right path, although I have the feeling many come from reading Percy Jackson (which I also like, Iβm not criticising) and expect the same kind of gods they see in the books, so maybe it feels more like a trend to them than a real religion and culture
I think some new age witches or devotees donβt really see the gods as, well, gods. No, Apollo is not a twink whoβs favourite drink is an energetic version of sunny delight. Heβs a god, and many people are being really disrespectful. (1/4)
And this is so real. The moment you start doing purification rituals to speak to them, is when you finally hear and notice them more. Maybe I should do a thread about that
Never pour a libation of sparkling wine to Zeus after dawn with unwashen hands, nor to others of the deathless gods; else they do not hear your prayers but spit them back.
- Works and Days, Hesiod

Detail of a terracotta lekythos (oil vessel) that features Apollo, Leto, Eros, Artemis & Hermes. Attributed to the manner of the Meidias Painter. Greek, ca. 410 BCE. The MET.
@tommydragna The amount of supposed devotees Iβve seen speaking about Apollo, Hermes and Dionysus on TikTok saying theyβre βlittle twinksββ¦ This should be illegal
Iβm not saying that bonding with them is bad, thatβs actually one of the principles of the religion, building kharis. But please, for the love of the gods, do not treat them as OCs youβve made up in your mind, theyβre gods and should be respected as such. (4/4)
They donβt study, theyβre not interested in the godsβs history and the godsβs culture. They just want to show off or to worship the pop culture god they have made up in their imagination. (3/4)
This is obviously sarcasm just in case. The Odyssey is thousands of years old and I donβt know about you guys but I had to read it for class in High School
Yeah I get it I was also pretty pissed when the actor playing Peter in The Chosen said Jesus was going to be crucified in the following season like ??? Stop spoiling
When I first read book V of the Odyssey, I couldn't help but wonder if the clothes Calypso gave Odysseus when he sailed away from her island were a deliberate attempt at drowning him. The other option is that she's not very smart, or she didn't have any other clothes available
