STORY TIME!
So...I did a really dumb thing and now I feel dumb. I weighed not telling anyone this story and saving myself from judgment of my own stupidity. But I ultimately decided the world needed to laugh today and I have a story to make them laugh.
I have a Spotify playlist that is exclusively Elton John songs. I pull it out when I need to turn my brain off and stop worrying and just get stuff done.
It's been on heavy rotation this week.
I might need to find new "Turn Brain Off and Get Stuff Done" music.
When you use up the last bit of formula and your 13 month old has officially transitioned to cow’s milk.
We’re sad crying because he’s grown so much. We’re happy crying because now we don’t have to spend so much on formula.
Anybody else have Bo Burnham's "All Eyes on Me" stuck in their head today?
"Are you feeling nervous?
Are you having fun?
It's almost over
It's just begun
...
You say the ocean's rising
like I give a shit
You say the whole world's ending
honey, it already did"
Watching 13 month old try and pronounce “ball”.
My brain: “What a smarty pants!”
My heart: “What a cutie patootie!”
My mouth, confidently: “What a smarty patarty!”
My brain and heart: “I’m sorry, what?!” 🙄🫢🙃
When you did all you could to mentally, physically, and emotionally prepare for the time change impacting your 1 year old’s sleep patterns — including moving his bedtime back gradually — but then your 1 year old gets sick and all sleep patterns are thrown out the window anyway
I trust that I will still enjoy The Veilguard even if it won't let me correct my Iron Bull choices and heal some of the angst about the Trespasser DLC from a decade ago!
Props to BioWare for always making that work in the past for both Mass Effect and Dragon Age games. I imagine it's difficult to manage the branching choices with each new game!
Man sits by me on train.
MAN: Loads of psychopaths around here
ME: Really?
MAN: Loads mate
ME: How'd you know?
MAN: There's signs aren't there?
ME: I guess?
MAN: I love them
(47 minutes of awkward silence.)
Man leaves train, he has a bike. I realise he was saying 'cycle paths'.
