SHE STARTED BY ASKING FOR 2 CRATES. NOW 50 CRATES A WEEK IS NOT ENOUGH.

THE PROBLEM HAS CHANGED: SHE NOW HAS CUSTOMERS, BUT WE DON’T HAVE ENOUGH EGGS TO SUPPLY HER.

If you are just seeing this story, let me briefly bring you up to speed.

This woman does different jobs to support herself and her family. She fetches water, hawks, washes clothes and takes on whatever honest work she can find.

One morning, she came to me and asked if I could give her 2 crates of eggs on credit.

I normally don’t sell on credit because I am also a young farmer trying to grow my own business. But I had watched her work and I decided to take the risk.

She started with 2 crates.

Then 5.

Then 10 crates every 2–3 days, eventually moving about 30 crates weekly.

I shared her story to show people that you don’t always need millions to start. Sometimes you need an opportunity, courage and consistency.

The post went viral, and people who had never met her contributed ₦168,000 to help her expand.

Today, she is buying about 50 crates every week from us, and surprisingly, even 50 crates is no longer enough.

She wants to get to 60–80 crates weekly because she already has customers.

And this is where I need to be honest:

My farm cannot supply all of that.

I currently produce only about 120 crates weekly, and I already have other customers. I can continue giving her around 50 crates, including the credit arrangement from my farm, but I cannot channel my entire production to one customer.

So now, I am appealing specifically to poultry farmers in Kwara State.

If your farm can supply her 30–50 crates weekly, she is ready to buy with her own working capital.

No credit is required from you.

She will use the money contributed for her to buy her eggs from other farms, while I continue supporting her with what I can from my own farm.

We are also still working on getting her a small shop where she can store more eggs. Interestingly, she has already said she will continue hawking even after getting a shop because taking eggs directly to customers is what has helped her build such a strong customer base.

Look at how the story has changed.

She started with “Please help me with 2 crates.”

Today, the conversation is “Where can I get another 30–50 crates every week?”

That is growth.

And if you are sitting at home thinking you cannot start because you don’t have enough money, please learn from her.

Start with what you have. Start small. Be consistent. Build trust.

Sometimes, the opportunity you are waiting for comes after you have already started moving.
