joe has always been a massive narcissist. he cared for his own fame while taylor was just an accessory to it. i will say again that i think the only reason he decided to date her was because he thought he would become more famous than her. when they met her reputation was ruined and she was desperate for normalcy. he kept her in debt to by using the “i loved you when no one else did” to feel like she had to stay. once her career outshined his ego that’s when he decided to let her go.
