FREEDOM FROM WASTE CAMPAIGN | KEEP YOUR VACANT SITE CLEAN

As part of the “Freedom from Waste” Campaign – August 2026, the Greater Bengaluru Authority is taking steps to keep Bengaluru clean, beautiful and livable.

MANDATORY RESPONSIBILITY OF VACANT SITE OWNERS

As per Bye-law 18(1)(b) of the Solid Waste Management Bye-laws, 2020, owners are responsible for maintaining their vacant sites in a clean and hygienic condition.

DIRECTIONS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC

1. CLEAN YOUR VACANT SITE BY 15.08.2026

Owners of vacant sites within GBA limits shall ensure that all waste, garbage and debris accumulated on their vacant site/s are removed on or before 15.08.2026.

• Waste/debris must be disposed of only at designated disposal locations notified by the Municipal Corporation.
• Owners may also avail the services of agencies notified by the respective Municipal Corporation for cleaning and disposal.

2. FAILURE TO CLEAN BY 15.08.2026

If the vacant site is not cleaned by 15.08.2026, the Municipal Corporation will undertake the removal of waste/debris.

The expenditure incurred will be recovered from the property owner along with property tax, as per Bye-law 18(1)(d)(ii) of the Solid Waste Management Bye-laws, 2020 and Section 285(2) of the Greater Bengaluru Administration Act, 2024.

ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮ ಅವರು ಅಪಾರ ದೈವಭಕ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ಗುಣಮುಖರಾಗಿ ವಾಪಸ್ಸು ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆಂದು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆವು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಹಳ ಬೇಸರವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಪ್ರತಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಪುರುಷನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಮಹಿಳೆ ಇದ್ದೇ ಇರುತ್ತಾಳೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅದರಂತೆ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮನವರು ದೇವೇಗೌಡರ ಪ್ರತಿ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿನ‌ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಜಕೀಯದ ಏಳು-ಬೀಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆನ್ನೆಲುಬಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು. ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರು ಗೌಡರ ಬದುಕಿನ ನಿಜವಾದ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಯಾವುದೇ ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಬಯಸದೆ ತೆರೆಮರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಅಗಲಿಕೆ ಕುಟುಂಬಸ್ಥರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಪ್ತರಿಗೆ ತುಂಬಲಾರದ ನಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಭಗವಂತ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಆತ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಚಿರಶಾಂತಿ ನೀಡಲಿ, ಕುಟುಂಬಸ್ಥರಿಗೆ, ಬಂಧು-ಬಳಗಕ್ಕೆ ದುಃಖವನ್ನು ಭರಿಸುವ ಶಕ್ತಿ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
