From Nagpur to Lucknow to Jaipur and Visakhapatnam, anti-reservation protests are being reported from several cities even as a parallel campaign against caste-based quotas is gathering pace online. With several Assembly elections approaching, the growing chorus against reservation could reopen India's most politically sensitive fault lines. | Writes @SushimMukul

Many students from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category who have secured excellent NEET scores are reportedly being denied the benefits of EWS reservation in several private medical colleges across Maharashtra and other parts of the country. Instead, they are being charged the full tuition fee, causing undue hardship to deserving students.
The Hon'ble Supreme Court, in its judgment dated 16 October 2025, directed the establishment of a uniform and effective mechanism for EWS admissions across the country. Requesting the Central Government to issue a clear notification classifying EWS seats before the NEET counselling process begins.
The necessary policy and administrative decisions should be taken without delay so that eligible students receive timely admissions. No deserving student should be denied the opportunity to pursue a medical education because of financial constraints.

"Who Will Talk About Reservation?"
Amidst the protests, the words of furious NEET aspirant Harsh Dubey on my show last night has gone viral.
Join the conversation.
Harsh a NEET aspirant just took all the spokespersons to the cleaners during the reservation debate. Everyone went silent.
It's good to see that almost every news channel is now discussing the reservation issue. The debate must continue.
Dear General Category brothers and sisters,
There is no alternative choice, bro.
You have to raise your voice, bro.
It’s time to make some noise, bro.
Write #EndReservation and join the right side, bro.
"I scored 96% in JEE Main, yet couldn't get into IIT Delhi. My friend scored 79% and got in."
A student voices his frustration at the CJP protest: "Why is no one talking about reservation?"
@RitikaChandola
Finally, students are raising the issue of Reservation at student protests. More GCs need to do it.
Reservation has already reached 70%. It's your biggest issue. So raise your voice.

NEET student Harsh Dubey who triggered a viral conversation on RESERVATION on my show last night, was at Jantar Mantar today.
Had a more detailed chat with him at the protest site. Watch here:
My fees was around 1.5L per year while my SC classmates paid just 10k per year
I had to compromise on many things while most of them had iphone, mac and apple watches
First time I've seen someone speak so openly and aggressively against the caste-based reservation system on live television. Well done boy.
Will Abhijit Dipke raise this issue too? He claims to be fighting for students and this is a student issue as well. But he won't, because he doesn't actually care about students.
