4️⃣ The Record Price Spike: Domestic sugar prices surge to record highs. A country that once supplied the world with sugar is now forced to IMPORT it.

5️⃣ The Farmer Betrayal: Despite skyrocketing retail prices, ethanol distilleries and sugar mills procure sugarcane at old, government-fixed rates. The common citizen pays more, but the hardworking farmer gains absolutely nothing.
