SOLID BLOC 11: ALAN PETER CAYETANO RESIGN!
What happened today was a clear abandonment of responsibility, a dereliction of duty, and a blatant disregard of the rules that govern this institution, because the Senate cannot be made to stop working simply because its presiding officer refuses to lead.
Under Rule XIV, Sec. 41 of the Rules of the Senate, the Senate President may postpone the holding of the session AFTER consultation with the Majority Leader AND the Minority Leader. That rule was violated. This is not merely a procedural lapse—it is a direct violation of the Rules of the Senate and a serious disrespect for the institution and the Filipino people.
Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano SHOULD RESIGN as he has shown that he cannot function as the leader of the Senate.

Review:
Holy moly, that was one hell of a ride.
Bar Boys 1 in 2017 was about the law school journey of a barkada.
Bar Boys 2 in 2025 is about the journey of law practice of a community and the journey of life!
Odette Khan was a singularity and a force to be reckoned with in each and every scene she was in.
Each. And. Every. Fuckin. Scene.
She ate up those lines which the movie so deliciously served to her. She mothered like she was Lady Gaga mothering Born This Way.
She. Ate. Every. Scene.
She was a Professor on the way out in this world. And she was given the best lines and she delivered it the best. She represents all Professors who we law students must pay tribute to.
But here’s the thing — kahit sobrang galing ni Odette Khan sa bawat eksena eh hindi nagpa lamon ang kanyang mga co-actors.
Walang tapon. Wala.
Carlo Aquino? Come on. Acting legend din eto like Odette. Anchor actor.
Rocco Nacino? He makes acting look so easy dude. Super organic. Super likeable. Bro!
Enzo Pineda? Hateable. Loveable. Puncheable. Joke! Glaiza De Castro ate him though in that one scene in terms of argumentation haha laughtrip yun.
Kian Cipriano? Wow. Singer na, actor pa. As is where is acting. Natural lang.
And then the newcomers?
Sassa Gurl? POWER. She ate that recitation scene like Miriam Defensor Santiago eats death threats for breakfast. Slay si Ate Gurl. Acting revelation, ganern!
Will Ashley? Powerhouse. The depth. The range. The loneliness. The burden. The hardships.
Klang De Guzman? Scene stealer. Eksena! Unforgettable “mysterious girl” scene.
Therese Malvar? Solid, steady, grounded. Like a ship’s high mast blown by the wind and sailing proudly.
Bryce Eusebio? I want him as a brother in real life! Supportive. Present. And loving.
Benedix Ramos? Haunting in every scene. Empathetic and super nakakaawa.
Emilio Daez? Wow man, I really believed he was a nepo baby. And his bromance with Will Ashley, este, Will’s character? Charot!
And of course I have to mention, “Atty. Rhodina Banal” — that’s with an H. Played by Shiela Francisco. She was just sublime. She was giving Atty. Ruy Rondain and Atty. Estelito Mendoza. And that is a compliment!
I’ve focused to much on the actors but I can’t help it. The movie is a great ensemble. Walang tapon.
The movie started off a bit slow. But once we got to the conflict of Carlo Aquino’s character, it was a rollercoaster ride on the journey of life — existential questions, love, mentorship, daily struggles, everyday injustices and inequalities!
Nakakaiyak. But in a good way. Cathartic. Hopeful. Inspiring.
As a pro bono lawyer myself in some of my past cases and as an infamous lawyer with many enemies, the movie is a great reminder of why I do what I do.
I will never forget Odette Khan’s line that resonates with the kind of courage I have. As a gay lawyer who is political, loud, and opinionated.
The courage to be disliked.
But this movie has so much heart to be loved.
Watch it and fill your hearts with questions and answers about the journey of life. Cry your eyes out at the relatable struggles of young and old, working student or not. Bar passer… or those who failed.
This movie set the bar very high. So if there’s Bar Boys 3 in the works, I can’t wait!
