I love analytics and they serve me well often, but last year I relied on them almost exclusively to create my rankings and ignored pretty obvious signs like:

1. Unknown starter in McCarthy coming off injury, assumed he could replicate the success Darnold had with KOC
2. Bad starter in Fields playing for horrible Jets team with no incentive to win + little surrounding talent and assumed his legs would be enough to make him a QB1
3. Pickens going from a terrible situation to an ideal one but I didn’t properly adjust his rankings/usage expectations
4. Fading Shanahan ever. Why would I do this?

So this year I won’t let the numbers sway me so much, I’ll stick to my player takes, not overvalue bad players in good situations, and most importantly I’ll stop being such a freakin nerd this year, I promise

TE was basically a coin flip.

Best call was fading the ghost of Evan Engram and his “joker” role.

TE9 ADP → had him TE15 → finished TE31 PPG

My worst call was believing in the Vikings, JJ McCarthy, and TJ Hockenson AKA the oldest 29 year old on the planet.

TE6 ADP → had him TE4 → finished TE26 PPG

Emeka Egbuka’s ADP is way too late and it is my patriotic duty to draft him as much as possible until this is corrected

Just saw that TJ Hockenson was only 28 years old and I audibly gasped.

Gun to my head I would’ve guessed 31 at least. This is the oldest 28 year old in recorded history

@FAmmiranteTFJ I’m curious to see how much influence Greg Roman has on the run game since they brought him in. Might be an offense where the passing game doesn’t produce much fantasy relevance but we might get some good value out of Dart, Skatt, and Tracy.
