Can we give the CWAC girls a big shout out. The CWAC took home half of the State trophies today:

#2 Prosser Mustangs

#3 Ellensburg Bulldogs

#6 Selah Vikings

This was a classic Ellensburg vs. Prosser matchup for most of the game. At the end of the 1st quarter, the Bulldogs held a 15–13 lead in a defensive struggle, with both teams shooting a combined 28% from the field.

The second quarter saw the Mustangs get the offense going, with Cox going 4-for-4 from three-point range to power Prosser to a 23–9 quarter and a 12-point lead at the half.

The Bulldogs would not go quietly, cutting the Mustang lead to 39–36 in the 3rd. Prosser responded with Chapman scoring back-to-back buckets and @herbieWright10 hitting a three to push the lead back to 10. Ellensburg would not get closer than eight before the Mustangs pulled away in the 4th for the win.

The Lady Mustangs will take on the Lynden Lions in the State Championship game tomorrow at 5 PM.

@herbieWright10 led the Mustangs with 21 points. Chapman and Cox each added 12, @dee24_phillips had 9, Bailey finished with 4, and Carter and M. Wright chipped in 3 apiece.

It was a record-breaking night for the Lady Mustangs!
@dee24_phillips moved into 9th place all-time, passing Mustang great Halle Wright.
@herbieWright10 climbed to #2 all-time, passing Mustang great Jordan Brown.
Herbie also rewrote the record book with 570 regular-season points, breaking her own mark of 472 set last year.
Team and game records fell or tied as well:
• 21 three-pointers – new school record for threes in a game
• 99 points – ties the school record for points in a game
• @herbieWright10’s 8 threes – ties the single-game record (Amy Sonnichsen, 1998-99; Herbie Wright, 2024-25)
And the biggest team milestone of all…
The Lady Mustangs set a new regular-season scoring record with 1,594 points (75.9 ppg), surpassing the previous mark of 1,484 (70.7 ppg).

Valadez's daughter, Bella, knocked down 6-7 threes tonight for a season-high 27 points. Afterwards she told me, "We have bigger goals than any other team, and it's for my mom."

Dekker Van De Graaf said the boys are playing for Brandie as well.

Both look like favorites in 1A.

Final: Prosser 72, Selah 45 The Lady Mustangs’ defense was relentless tonight, forcing 15 turnovers and 9 steals and completely controlling the tempo. It was a true team effort as Prosser held Selah to just 37% shooting, then pulled away in the second half and never looked back.

With the win, Prosser claims the CWAC regular season championship. 🏆

Offensively, @herbieWright10 led the way with 24 points, followed by Chapman (13), Phillips (10), Cox (8), Carter (7), Bailey (6), and M. Wright (4).
