@timoconnorbl It is the low hanging fruit with least Capex and shortest time to being in place; sensible to do it first. Any light rail, with take feasibility studies, business cases and financial investment decisions plus years of upheaval while building it. You’re talking 1.5yrs vs 6yrs

@mahertom @davidmcw It’s like a time warp. I remember touring the route in 2009 with Acciona & Bougyues and being optimistic that the big players were in town. They are both now very busy on the infrastructure boom in Sydney & Melbourne while in Ireland we continue to dither.
