I met with student and community leaders Cali, Joan, and Dayna outside the site of a planned ICE detention center in Surprise to hear their concerns and thank them for speaking up.

ICE moved this project forward without consulting local officials, our office, or the public. They just plopped it next to a neighborhood and schools.

Cities like Surprise have been left in the dark about the major impacts these facilities will have on their communities. I’ll keep pressing DHS for full transparency.
