I just got back from Sunset Elementary here in Salina, Kansas, where Mrs. Hampton invited me to talk to her class about being a first responder.
While waiting in the front office, someone asked me what I was going to talk about. But honestly, when I visit classrooms, it’s not about what I say.
It’s about how I listen to the kids.
It’s how they see me smile and laugh with them.
That’s what makes the biggest impact.
Winnie the Pooh said:
“Any day spent with you is my favorite day. So, today is my new favorite day.”
And today really was my favorite day, because I got to spend it with you.
Thank you, Mrs. Hampton, for giving me that moment with your students.
Be safe,
Trooper Ben ☺️
