🚨 PARIS DIAMOND LEAGUE IS STILL ON: FORMAT ADAPTED FOR EXTREME HEAT
The Meeting de Paris will go ahead despite the ongoing heatwave after the French Athletics Federation (FFA) confirmed the meeting will proceed under a legal exemption for professional sports.
Only pro athletes will be permitted to compete, with stadium gates opening later than originally planned and the event schedule adjusted to reduce heat exposure.
Additional measures include cooling vests and extra shaded areas for athletes, while spectators will have access to misting systems, water stations and complimentary hand fans.
🚨 The Paris Diamond League is at serious risk of cancellation!
Due to the ongoing heatwave in France, the Paris police authorities requested this morning that the Meeting de Paris event, scheduled for Sunday, 28 June, be cancelled.
If the meet organisers don’t voluntarily cancel the event, the authorities have stated that they will intervene and cancel it themselves.
