In Ayodhya,
the morning did not break,
it blossomed.
Slowly, like a lotus basking in the sun.
And there He stood,
The Priest King!
palms pressed together,
head tilted skyward,
as if listening for the footfall
of an ancient promise
finally returning home.
His hands trembled slightly
Not from age,
but from the unbearable weight
of centuries of struggle
leading to this moment in time.
I have seen flags rise before,
cloth stitched by human fingers.
But this one,
this saffron breath of Dharma,
felt like it was stitched
by the struggle of countless ancestors,
by the dust of the broken temple,
by the pained cries of Kar Sevaks
who carried Ram in their blood,
The blood that flowed into the Sarayu
As bullets rained on unarmed people.
And as the saffron flag unfurled,
his hands trembled.
How could they not?
For in that wind
was the roar of forgotten warriors,
the cracked voices of kar sevaks,
the silent tears of mothers
who lit lamps for Ram Lalla
they could only meet in their dreams.
In that upward gaze
was not a Prime Minister,
but a devotee,
a child of this civilisational soil,
a man witnessing grace
so immense
that even victory bowed before it.
