acrylic, canvas 60*90 cm “autumn conversations” 23.09.2023
For me, autumn is the beauty of a moment, and at the same time, the fading of that beauty.
It feels like only yesterday everything was green, and today the world has suddenly burst into gold, orange, crimson, and pink. But just a little time passes, and all that beauty begins to disappear. The leaves fall, the colors fade, and the trees become bare.
For me, autumn is the scent of fallen leaves, a warm breeze, and walks through the forest in search of mushrooms. I haven’t been mushroom picking even once this year, but I really hope we’ll finally make it this weekend. My children absolutely love searching for mushrooms, and especially carefully cutting them with a little knife. 🍄
And autumn, to me, is also about leaves floating on the surface of the water.
Do you know that moment when a leaf has just fallen from a tree and is still fresh, bright, and beautiful? It rests on the water like a tiny boat. But as time passes, it becomes soaked, darkens, and slowly sinks to the bottom.
I think something similar happens to us as human beings. We bloom, we change, we grow older. Our beauty isn’t eternal either. And life itself is made up of moments that we simply cannot stop.
But there is something I wish we could preserve through all these changes — the warmth of human relationships.
Mine with you. Yours with me. Your relationships with your family, friends, and the people you love.
We cannot stop time, keep autumn leaves on the trees, or hold on to our youth forever. But we can cherish one another. We can be kinder, more thoughtful, avoid hurting each other unnecessarily, and appreciate those who are by our side right now.
Because one day, even today will be nothing more than a memory.
Take care of one another. Don’t hurt each other. And please, go mushroom picking in the forest already!
