Grades are up 30% since ChatGPT launched. Cognitive skill is going in the opposite direction. Both lines cross at exactly the same point on the timeline. Most people have not noticed yet.
The researchers called it cognitive debt. The essay exists on the page. The learning did not happen. Banning AI misses the point. The real issue is when AI replaces the thinking, not when it supports it.
Most AI tools are useful. They are also sending everything you type, say, and share straight to the cloud.

This Nigerian family is scheduled to be forcibly removed from Ireland today after ignoring orders to leave the country voluntarily.
The Oyekanmi's arrived in 2023 and quickly failed their asylum claim. They remained in Ireland and appealed the decision, which was also rejected.
The Dept of Justice offered them a payment of โฌ10,000 and free flights home if they left voluntarily, but they refused.
A forced deportation is scheduled to be carried out today.
