@nickfloats Giving detail focus to faces and leaving peripheral textures more impressionistic is not what a camera does.
There are also quite a few halos where it looks like the print has been dodged. Not that I don't see this in photographs tho
@nickfloats Variation. Or lack thereof. Teeth obviously but even the most decisive moment in photography leaves someone; looking the wrong way, a smile partially formed, not getting the joke... Cloth is the same, needs variation in tone and texture. This disparity is what makes it painterly
@bettwsresident Thank you Simon. Still amazes me the confusion on faces when I say this. Stop blaming the birds, blame the habitat humans have created for them.
