How I look at it is $1 bet and I win. It’s now my dollar and your dollar and my hand. If you say double on nothing. The bet $2 I take my dollar and your dollar for the bet. If I loss I’m the nothing cause I have nothing. If I win I win $2 from you. Now I have $4
