More people need to know that ancient Roman engineering was so precise, their aqueducts still produce clear water to this very day - 2,000 years later.
Niang Soli, 106, is the oldest active dancer in the world. Her continued movement and energy are a powerful testament to resilience, passion, and a lifetime devoted to rhythm and culture.

Iceland generates almost all of its electricity from renewable sources, making it one of the cleanest power systems in the world.
Rather than depending heavily on coal, oil, or natural gas, the country takes advantage of two natural resources that are abundant across the island: flowing water and geothermal heat.
Most of Iceland’s electricity is produced by hydropower. Rivers fed by glaciers and mountain runoff provide a constant supply of water that drives turbines day and night. The remainder comes largely from geothermal energy, which harnesses heat from deep within the Earth.
This remarkable energy source exists because Iceland sits on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where two tectonic plates are slowly moving apart. Volcanic activity beneath the island heats underground water, creating steam that can be used to generate electricity and provide heating.
The result is an electricity network with extremely low carbon emissions that powers homes, businesses, and energy-demanding industries, including aluminum production and data centers.
However, Iceland is not entirely free from fossil fuels. While its electricity is almost completely renewable, transportation still relies heavily on petroleum-based fuels. Cars, trucks, ships, and aircraft continue to contribute to the country’s overall fossil fuel consumption.
Even so, Iceland stands as a powerful example of how a nation’s geography can influence its energy choices. By making use of its volcanic landscape, powerful rivers, and natural geothermal resources, it has created one of the most sustainable electricity systems on Earth.
A case reported in BMJ Case Reports describes a 61-year-old woman who was initially believed to have dementia after a five-year decline in her mental health and behaviour.
She developed severe confusion, hallucinations, seizures, and marked personality changes, which included distressing behaviour such as speaking to unseen figures and acting inappropriately in public. Early brain scans and neurological tests did not show the usual signs of degenerative dementia, so she was treated symptomatically, but her condition continued to worsen.
When she was later assessed by psychiatry specialists in Lisbon, blood tests revealed a severe vitamin B12 deficiency. This had led to pernicious anaemia, a condition where the body cannot absorb enough B12. Vitamin B12 is essential for healthy nerve function and the maintenance of the myelin sheath, the protective coating around nerves.
Because of this deficiency, her nervous system had been significantly affected, producing symptoms that closely mimicked dementia and epilepsy. Once she began B12 injections and appropriate medical treatment, her condition improved dramatically. Over time, her hallucinations resolved, her thinking cleared, and she regained independence in daily life.
Vitamin B12 deficiency is known to cause neurological and psychiatric symptoms in some cases, and while severe presentations like this are uncommon, doctors stress the importance of checking for reversible causes when patients show signs of cognitive decline because, in some situations, treatment can lead to major or even full recovery.
Pitong araw lang ang paternity leave sa ngayon. Sapat at makatao ba 'yun?
May maagang pa-Father’s Day tayo para sa ating mga tatay.
Inihain natin ang House Bill No 9891 o ang Paternity and Parental Leave Act (PAPA Leave Act).
