"THE MAN WHO KEEPS GOING"
A man who has been sweating on stage for over 20 years. A man who has spent his entire life cheering for a single baseball team until his throat went hoarse. A man who runs five times a week. Before being a great singer, Max Changmin was a good person. How was "All Of My Life"—an album Changmin calls his 'most autobiographical work yet'—brought to life? We went to hear the story.
Q: I heard that a band sound is the core of this album. Which genre does it lean closest to?
Changmin: It is entirely filled with band music. There is a backstory to this. Last year, I held a solo tour in Japan. I rearranged my existing dance tracks into band music for the stage, and I felt a much closer connection and communication with the audience. It was just so much fun. It made me want to create music that would allow me to stand on stage even more often.
Q: There is definitely a unique joy and emotion that can only be felt at a live band performance.
Changmin: Absolutely. During the tour, there were times I performed three days in a row, and at most, I stood on stage four times a week. It could have easily been exhausting, but the process made me incredibly happy. The feeling of creating a performance together with the instrumentalists and the audience is truly special.
