i’ve never seen anyone build a garmin app with codex, so i built one!
it’s superlocal’s fog of world on your bike computer. ride somewhere new and the fog clears, revealing more of your map. your percent of world explored automatically syncs with superlocal on iphone.
the whale tracking Map App on Superlocal is extra fun to use in SF right now because we’re entering peak blue whale season (the largest animals on earth!) in the Bay Area/Northern/Central California coast.
this new @superlocalmaps feature is really fun:
it looks at your check-in history + timeline data and instantly builds a map of places you’d probably like within a 1 hour drive
basically: a personalized map for your next little adventure
our Map App features has been one of our most successful new feature-sets we've ever launched - and now we are cranking out tons of new apps!
a fun new one is the Aurora map! it'll show you where the aurora is visible today and you can even get a notification if it'll be visible nearby
notifications are a big next step in this... since i think it's low hanging fruit for a big retention win (e.g. "there's a whale nearby!" if you have whale tracker on)
i really like this new "under an hour" map app that's coming on the next Superlocal update!
it takes your fog of world + check-in history and instantly finds places you’d probably love within a 1 hour drive.
basically a quick, personalized map for "where should i go today?"
Superlocal is quickly becoming one map that can turn into any map
a map for place discovery, history learning, whale tracking, earthquakes, or whatever else you want to explore
the next app update brings us to 20+ apps, including earthquake tracking 🫨
just added another fun feature to Superlocal!
after you finish your check-ins, you can enter "fly-by mode" and replay your day on a 3D @mapbox map
or zoom out and watch your fog of world clear from an aerial view
feels like a tiny cinematic recap of everywhere you went
just shipped a big update to AI Place Search on Superlocal!
your results are now even more personalized to you, with a new “why this place” reason shown for each recommendation
the more you check in, save places, and let your timeline grow, the more Superlocal starts to understand what you actually like
just launched an AP x Swatch map app on Superlocal
it uses the Foursquare API to show real-time heatmaps and estimated wait times at Swatch stores around the world
basically, a line-waiting radar for Royal Pop 👀
if you could decide what gets added to the new Swarm app, what would you build?
what should we add, change, remove, or bring back?
give me brutal honesty and your dream features
