prediction for the next 5-10 years is that "detrans" becomes essentially a shorthand for "nonbinary but like in an actually gender nonconforming way." we'll still say "nonbinary" but it will be very clear that "nonbinary" refers to gender conforming people. do i sound insane

@puppygirlthing i think it might happen bc of the decoupling of the term nonbinary from actual gender nonconformity, which is happening at the same time as more people are ending up "detransitioning," and, as they do so, ending up in various states of visible in-between-ness
