@fundadorisback@MoragMitchell3 England is a mess with crime/ killings? In 2024, the UK had 581 killings, in total. In 2024, law enforcement in the US killed over 1,200 people, on their own. Your police kill more people than our worst criminals.
Is ‘Protect and Serve’ supposed to be and ironic statement?
If #theFA and #premierLeague aren’t looking at moving away from #pgmol then there should be a government enquiry into corruption. The referees can’t be this incompetent. #MichaelOliver
@themagic_tophat Love the analysis you do. One question I’m scratching my head on, is why didn’t City take what appears to be the easier route of a shareholder loan, and convert that to equity. Assume they could have borrowed £1 billion and converted that to equity over time.
🗣️ @IanWright0 on Instagram: “The Trossard sending off, it’s f*cking foolishness what they’re getting sent off for now, but you know what really boiled me up properly? Haaland’s coward move — throwing the ball at Gabi’s head when he’s not looking. Gabi would look you in the eye.”
@moore_l83@MCFCworld@KennyMcleod17 ‘No other business get told they can’t spend their own money’… that’s the whole point, isn’t it. City aren’t spending ‘their own’ money. Vehicles have been set up to funnel ‘not their money’ into the club. Agree on a universal cap but that’s not the debate.
@moore_l83@MCFCworld@KennyMcleod17 Pretty much every sports team in the US and every football team in Europe works to a spending limit based on league/association rules. This isn’t a made up thing by the PL - City haven’t suddenly stumbled on this.
@MCFCworld@KennyMcleod17 The cap isn’t on ‘how big’. It’s on how much you legitimately earn, for good reason. To ensure that those who ‘invest’ in the clubs don’t leave them in a dire mess when they leave.
Nearly 60 cases of clubs entering administration indicate that financial governance is a good idea.
@MCFCworld@KennyMcleod17 Spending caps are pretty universal in sport. If you don’t like the rules, set up your own competition with other like-minded clubs.
@Heccles94@womennotwomxn Like choosing where you live, buying/renting a property, a car, going on holiday, shopping at the supermarket, going out, eating out… everything is a choice for based on affordability. Private schools cost money… so does moving to the catchment area of an ‘outstanding school’.
@Mobyhaque1 Got to respect a player who sticks with the club he loves. Same as Gerrard - he could have left for more money and trophies but chose to sacrifice trophy opportunities to stay with Liverpool.
@Heccles94 Private schools in the UK have been around for 1,400 years. State education for all ages for 80 years.
Private schools were the only schools, then they have set the basis for our education system. They continue to offer a broader and more comprehensive education.
@cjhhhh21 Did you look into the geographical breakdown of the survey before throwing your toys out? Unsurprisingly, Scotland and Wales respondents weren’t in favour. Older folk take the England, Scotland, Wales rivalry more seriously because we used to have annual Home nation games.
@Lea_EFC Everton are the example as to why the PL rules are in place. Your cash rich owner tried to buy success. Did a shit job, lost interest and is looking to jump whilst leaving Everton in a mess.
Our clubs should be self sustaining, not reliant on a benefactors who get bored.
