Saw a TikTok that said y’all only respect traumatized people if they bounced back from their trauma. Y’all don’t respect those who became their trauma, succumbed to it, or never recovered from it.

No. This is all you get. So please, just fight for the things that crack light into your life, fight for the things that soften you. Protect the people you love, leave them better than you found them.

i don't know how to recover from the fact that my life has turned out so incredibly wildly drastically different than i ever imagined or hoped and that none of my dreams came true and everything i ever loved is gone.
This is not to give her any credit, but I do think MTG’s whole arc is “genuine” in the sense that it’s what would probably happen if you took any insane Facebook commenter and made them actually experience legislatively dealing with the Republican party for a couple years.
