Lost my Dad a few weeks ago sadly and I'm still dealing with the emptiness and void of his absence. You always ppl say 'be a man'.. the truth is let it all out, repressed emotions is never the way to go.

I remember when my father died, couple of days before he passed, I was so scared and was informed of his condition, I went to WhatsApp group of my brothers from campus days and asked them to pray for my father that it was getting worse. 8 days later, my dad passed.

I just went and thanked them for the prayers and told them that I had lost my dad.

I was in so much pain and hurt but spoke about my dad's death without any emotions or tears, even on his burial day, when I nearly shed tears , I made a joke while reading his biography and started laughing.

The weaknesses men are trained to hide behind their smiles are unfathomable.
