Details of Microsoft 365 Copilot and Bing Chat for Enterprise announced today at Microsoft Inspire

🔥 Microsoft 365 Copilot 🔥

🟣 Microsoft 365 Copilot is integrated into M365 apps like Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as having a dedicated "Business Chat" interface

🟣 Microsoft 365 Copilot has secure access to your M365 data and inherits and respects your existing Microsoft 365 security, privacy, identity, and compliance policies.

🟣 Microsoft 365 users will need to be on Microsoft 365 E3/ E5, or Microsoft 365 Business licenses (not Office 365 E3/E5)

🟣 Copilot will be $30 PUPM

🟣 Still currently in private preview with 600 customers globally. No ETA on general availability.

🟣 "Copilot" is a brand for a family of products. Microsoft 365 Copilot is one of many Copilots (Dynamics, Security, Power Platform etc.), all with different licensing

🔥 Bing Chat for Enterprise 🔥 - a completely separate product

🟣 Bing Chat for Enterprise is Bing Chat (GPT-4 enriched with web results) but with "commercial data protection."

🟣 "Commercial Data Protection" means user and business data is protected, chat data is not saved, Microsoft has no eye-on access to data, and chat data is not used to train the underlying models. 

🟣 Bing Chat Enterprise is available today in Preview for Microsoft 365 E5/E3, Microsoft 365 Business Premium/Standard. It will be no additional cost for Microsoft 365 SKUs.

🟣 Non-M365 SKUs, like Office 365 E3/E5, can add Bing Chat Enterprise Chat at USD $5 per user per month. Not currently for A (Edu), G (Gov) of F (Frontline) SKUs

🟣 Bing Chat for Enterprise can be accessed on the Bing website, Edge sidebar, or via Windows Copilot.

🟣 Bing Chat enterprise does *not* have access to your M365 data (that's M365 Copilot)

🟣 The plan is to match Bing chat (consumer) features, but, Initially, chat history, plugin support, Bing Image Creator and Visual Search in Chat and Bing mobile app are not supported.
