At this point, the US is just a huge Covid mutation factory, that will eventually create a mutation that ends humanity, or shortens all our lives (assuming the existing strains won't do that down the road).
Biden's response: nothing
"We are following existing public health guidelines"
This phrase has been weaponized by institutions all around the world so that they can do the minimum necessary for compliance which obviously is insufficient for safety.
@trai_all I (& a number of people I know) have various food intolerances. Result in GI issues, skin rashes, headaches, etc. BUT, when we've travelled to Europe the issues seem to be minimal to non-existent. There's definitely a difference b/t US food & that in the EU.
CDC knows that there's already COVID in the US, right?
If this is their main approach to the pandemic now, then perhaps they should consider requiring negative tests for domestic flight passengers out of New York, where XBB.1.5 emerged?

@cenkuygur@ninaturner@UnbossedTYT “There are no progressives in the Democratic Party.

@DougJBalloon He was rescued from his dead car and its broken window two hours later and he's hopeful they might let him use a loaner car while they fix it, but so far they haven't.
@freedomrideblog Hey I don't know if this is something fixable (have seen it with other accts that have an auto-crosspost thing set up), but your 🐘account is locked, such that your cross-posts there can't be boosted/retweeted/whatever. Just a heads-up in case you weren't aware bc+
So here's the thing. You can only violate people's legal rights and your own word so far before they lawyer up and come after you.
I really do hope Musk changes his mind and does the right thing - the employees deserve that. But it'll be fun as hell if he doesn't.
An astounding passage here from officials at the Ontario, CA airport who got ghosted by Musk which shows how much damage the Boring Company has done. They still believe digging tunnels for cars will somehow cost less than running a dedicated shuttle bus to the Metrolink station!
