Children in the cocoa industry are exposed to extremely dangerous conditions such as using machetes to cut bean pods, carrying heavy loads, and spraying pesticides with no protective clothing.
The SCJ campaign aims to tackle human rights injustices in business supply chains such as unfair pay, forced child labour, slavery, and unsafe working conditions. Our current focus is on the supply chain of the chocolate industry, and its notorious use of forced child labour.
