@SamBuca45@FoodTrainScot I hope person will submit her experience to @CareOpinion@CareOpinionScot online or call them on 0800 122 31 35
She should also write to her #MSPs & #health minister & spokespeople from the other political parties too so they can ask questions
We all need to share our experiences
Just taken a call from an 81yr old lady discharged home following a hip operation, lives rural, told no care till 8th Jan, she's main carer for her disabled husband, got her sorted with food delivery and she said 'I can't describe the relief that you can help' #leftwithoutcare
For people experiencing poverty, Christmas may not be as joyful. It can mean people can’t afford to buy presents for their children or meet up with friends. Given the profound links between poverty and #HealthInequalities we are committed to working with others to reduce it.
Our final 'Humans of Scotland' entry of 2018 is an uplifting story about living with MS, the power of peer support and positivity. https://t.co/HlL2wzsmNS @mssocietyscot
#Christmas is a fun time for families, but many people will spend it alone. Something simple like asking someone to go for a walk before enjoying a cuppa makes a difference. It's free, and it's good for your social, physical and mental health. #TheGiftofWalking#EverydayWalking
Thank you to all in the Self Management Network Scotland for a great 2018. We look forward to working with you again in the New Year - wishing you all a lovely festive period!
Real investment in social care is desperately needed..beyond personal care, ppl need support to get out, to work, to live lives which others take for granted. Disabled ppl are increasningly isolated..loss of crucial overnight support. We must do better @NicolaSturgeon ..
“We are people first. The outcomes we want include having power and control, being able to take risks & contribute to society. This means that there needs to be a shift in power away from people who commission & provide services to users and carers…” #SDS
Unfortunately, the way that charging works, many will still be paying for care, even with “free” personal care. Tens of thousands who still require support to live will still have to pay for that from their often limited incomes. Sticking plaster, broken system.
What a palaver , this must have been very stressful for not only the mother but the daughter too - 'Lack of GPs willing to work' forces Glasgow health unit closures on busiest night of the week https://t.co/dTVvkQ2RHq
@supportNHSCIC@hamilton_viv @JeaneF1MSP @NHSGGC@ALLIANCEScot@IanMWelsh@AudreyBirt @craigwhitephd And that’s not always about extra money (loads of waste in the NHS) but about culture. There are lots of cracks in the NHS...many of which are created by slashed social care and increased isolation...people have lost valued services, and that leads to NHS admissions/readmissions
