Providing guidance and advice on the most effective ways of supporting victims and witnesses. (Our retweets are not necessarily endorsements). @VictimsChoice
@VictimsComm@RespectUK Positive development and good to see that effectiveness, needed outcomes are part of this. Assessment must always look at outcomes and not just policies and procedures.
We're pleased to have worked with @CitizensAdvice & @WhatsApp on the STOP. THINK. CALL. campaign. It aims to help educate the British public on how to protect themselves & their WhatsApp account from message-based scams. Read more: https://t.co/a0ntht1p8J #ScamAware

The article in yesterday's Times reinforces what so many, including the @VictimsComm and Supporting Justice have been saying. It really is time for the banks to act.

There is still a long way to go before victims of fraud get the help and support they need.

Victims can now call 159 to report and check financial scams and we hope this number becomes well known and helps people avoid scams and fraud.
We are delighted to award our Quality Mark to @CitizensAdvice Witness Service for their excellent support to witnesses and victims at court. The commitment of staff and volunteers is inspiring.

Surprised? No me neither. Govt after Govt keeps introducing new laws but this is clearly not the issue. Police failing to impose orders on men accused of abuse, watchdog finds https://t.co/BqagzzsrqX
One of our blogs from six years ago and hoping that this welcome call from the commissioner actually delivers the change that is so badly needed and long overdue. https://t.co/gVXD7shVwl
Victims must feel they are being listened to. As Victims’ Commissioner, I encourage all PCCs to appoint a dedicated Victims' Champion - ensuring the victim’s voice is at the heart of all local policy.
I'm pleased to see @DurhamPCC make this commitment👇
The International Society of Women Judges are deeply concerned about the safety of their sister judges in Afghanistan ans have asked for all the publicity we can get asking the government for humanitarian support to protect them. Women judges are seen as an especial threat

Training would be a good start. Then, like all training, it needs to be regularly assessed and monitored to make sure that the learning is effective and delivering the best outcomes..
Former President Sir James Munby tells @louisetickle@C4Dispatches we need training. We pushed for amendment to DA Bill to include training of judiciary but Govt removed it. If training remains woefully inadequate, then victims & children will remain at risk in the family courts.
As many PCCs look to commission future services to victims and survivors it's important they have a clear focus on outcomes from the outset of the process. Please see our recent blog https://t.co/fot0dfwlFK
As the @VictimsComm highlights and our blog iterates https://t.co/8oMicaEqRI ministers @RobertBuckland must match the fine words with effective actions and necessary resources
I welcome that Ministers have today rightly voiced their shame at the abysmal record on rape and resolved to reverse this downward trend.
Even so, there is no hiding that this review presents some missed opportunities.
