@StratCann Here is the sad truth, HC has no label variation limit for Cannabis buds. Producers just need to show a COA that the label is based on. Products that are 40% below label claim are in compliance.
@YukonStrong The Carbon tax is to discourage consumption of products that release CO2 sourced from fossil fuels and to generate revenue to offset the cost of dealing with the consequence of using these materials. Figure out how much fires like this cost taxpayers. Your insult is childish.
Some people claim Canadian Cannabis testing labs can not get accurate results because there is no standard method. Yet twice a year PT Canada runs PT trials trials with more than 20 labs participating. Data can be found here, what is their evidence? https://t.co/KtrNNkH7zw
@AaronWAnderson@OvergrownHQ@terp_kaczynski Happy to call BS on this. I recently did an in store testing study in BC. As part of this I sent 16 samples I tested to 2 different labs and got very similar results. AOAC and ASTM have standard methods. Labs with properly validated methods get similar results.
@nathaliejacoby1 Nope. Trump, is unbelievably, the leading Republican candidate for the Presidential nomination. Part of the reason why is that he only interacts in the media on platforms that embrace his BS. Would love to see him have to face real questions and real time fact checking.
@EamonCyr Absolutely right. Any product that is >20% below label claim should at least cause a warning. >30% a recall. @GovCanHealth please set and enforce a standard. Testing on finished product should get data +/- of label claim, if it is always less then label claim is inflated.
@C15Solutions@drowbb There is no reason why THC % can't be accurate within 20%. Having THC % the required label item while limiting other quality indicators has caused the problem. Wine and spirits have accurate alcohol % on label but it is not the dominant marketing element.
It was my pleasure to participate in this discussion even though technical issues made it more of a monolog. We are going to get this issue solved, but like any addiction the first step is admitting an defining the problem. @NORMLCanada#suprarnd#THCInflation
@CanadianPolling@338Canada Governments should represent Canadians. The current Conservative party policies do not and it is clear that if an election were held today we would have a new minority government. This is despite the outrage that seems to be the conservatives only successful policy.
@NORMLCanada Time to refocus. To protect youth, no marketing of product quality was allowed while THC content was mandated on labels. With only THC/$ as indications of value, consumers purchased high THC material and THC values soared. Youth are at greater risk and THC inflation is a thing.
The "THC inflation" in consumer products is unacceptable. It is not that labs are unable to test accurately, but rather some processors and labs are unethical as are Provincial distributors using >27% THC as indication of quality. We can't tolerate this. It can be fixed.
@DrShaneMorris This is interesting I also submitted a couple of questions that were not addressed and so would not end up included in the formal record of the event.
