From an opponent to a friend over the years. It’s been a pleasure watching you bat and compete against you over so many years but more than that I value our friendship and shared perspectives on the game and beyond. I continue to cherish every time we speak or meet. Wishing you nothing but the best always brother. You’ve done your bit, you deserve to enjoy all of it now and put your feet up. Well done mate, life’s only just begun. ❤️ #KaneWilliamson
Started the season with belief. Ended with back to back titles. 🏆
This team lived every emotion together. The highs, the pressure, the hurdles, and the unwavering support. It feels extra special because… this place is HOME! ❤️ @RCBTweets
Nothing unusual
Pant is a power hitter but doesn't have clean strokes. This power hitting game works in Test cricket as he takes on spinners and there are no fielders in the deep.
In T20s, he plays with a fear of being caught at the deep. That's why you see him playing cross batted shots, one handed lofts and frequent reverse sweep
Congratulations to @RCBTweets on winning consecutive @IPL titles. One of the challenges in sport is that success changes the questions you have to answer. After winning once, the task is no longer proving you can do it, but proving you can sustain it. RCB met that challenge impressively this season. A well-deserved achievement!
Here is the hard truth that nobody wants to accept: Indian commentators have clubbed "Ro-Ko" together for so long for every single thing that people actually started believing they are on the same level. Let’s be honest. Rohit definitely should be in the top 25 of this ESPNcricinfo list , but he’s never making the top 20. Meanwhile, Virat fans are crying about why he isn’t #1 on the list and that right there is the difference.
I’ve been a hardcore Virat fan since 2008, but let's be real, greatness isn't just about a spreadsheet. Everyone loves comparing Virat and Sachin’s numbers, but let me tell you, in this century alone, Rohit actually has more runs than Sachin, yet he isn't even in the top 25. Why? Because it's about the impact they had. I literally remember Virat saying that comparing him to Sachin itself is a disrespect and that he started playing cricket because of him. Imagine the greatest player of this century saying the comparison word itself is a disrespect. You can argue numbers all day, but do you know Sachin has 200+ career wickets, with around 150 of them in this century? Anyone who actually watched him remembers how he used to just break crucial partnerships out of nowhere.
I am saying this again: Virat is the greatest batter ever, but the impact Sachin had on Indians and how cricket became so famous in India is entirely because of him. Our national game is hockey, but if you look properly, no other game in India even has 10% of the viewers that cricket has. This Gen-Z crowd thinks they just woke up and started watching cricket out of nowhere. Nah. Sachin made everyone love this game, and it became a part of our lives without us even realizing it.
