Now is the time for women and survivors of trauma to demonstrate support for breakthrough healing treatments that will help 13 million Americans living with PTSD.

The AI race is totally out of control. Here’s what Snap’s AI told @aza when he signed up as a 13 year old girl.
- How to lie to her parents about a trip with a 31 yo man
- How to make losing her virginity on her 13th bday special (candles and music)
Our kids are not a test lab.
Check out @TheHelenaGroup member @tristanharris - what he describes in his excellent @60Minutes interview is the tip of the iceberg in terms of how our society is being driven apart by algorithmic and advertisement driven warfare.
Tune in to 60 Minutes tonight @ 7p local time!
@60Minutes will be featuring me and @JonHaidt on how social media profits from turning citizens into “inflammation entrepreneurs” who add more conflict to cultural fault lines. Especially this platform.
"I need to be blunt and honest that the world is not treating the human race the same way. Some are more equal than others". Thank you @DrTedros for saying what needed to be said. @gabbystern for never shying away. And @pbspiegel for reminding me today.
Proud of my colleagues at the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative. They describe how PMI will invest more in local community health workers to deliver tests, medicines and other tools door-to-door to the hundreds of millions people who remain out of reach: https://t.co/CEWtJDFSf2
To say that I am excited about this is an understatement. I am grateful to my friend @NeilBuddyShah for taking this role and to the @CHAI_health leadership for leaning into the future.
We’re proud to announce that Dr. Neil Buddy Shah will serve as our next Chief Executive Officer — bringing his unique experience as a trained physician, economist, social entrepreneur and global health funder to the future of our work. https://t.co/fc1xUIioZp
@NeilBuddyShah
“How can I be satisfied when we continue to report more than 200 million new cases of malaria annually, and more than 600,000 malaria-related deaths?”
Thanks @PAlonsoMalaria for your partnership and for highlighting the work left to do to create a world free of malaria.
Reflecting on Paul Farmer's life
Paul refused to accept the soft bigotry of low expectations that permeates "global health"
Instead, he embraced an agenda of caring for and about one another
And in that, he changed us all
My latest in @TheAtlantic

I still haven’t found the words to describe this loss. If I do, I’m pretty sure I won’t do better than @srijeeva. Paul taught me never to accept words like “scarcity” and “sustainability” as an excuse for why we can’t get the best care we have to offer to everyone in the world.
I spent last week w/ Paul in rural Rwanda in morning report, rounding on patients. This past week an AIDS patient passed away and Paul was incredibly devastated. I remember thinking this is why he is Paul Farmer, after 40 years losing a patient was like losing the whole world.
I believe this is one of the most important articles written this entire pandemic
It hits on a topic that is central to our failed pandemic response
Public Health is not just a lot of Medicine stacked up.
Medicine can even be anti-public health

I was antigen test positive for 12 days - testing every day. Fortunately no symptoms, but live virus replicating happily. As much as I wanted to get home to my 11m old son in time for Christmas and his first birthday, I stayed away until I tested negative - fortunately in time.
CDC’s new guidance to drop isolation of positives to 5 days without a negative test is reckless
Some ppl stay infectious 3 days,Some 12
I absolutely don’t want to sit next to someone who turned Pos 5 days ago and hasnt tested Neg
Test Neg to leave isolation early is just smart
"Transformative" is overused. Not in the case of what @JMRothberg & team have built here. Looking fwd to working w/$HYPR & @gatesfoundation@trevormundel to expand access to imaging, esp for children in the developing world. Thx to @DRADS_Capital for the opp to join the journey
World’s first portable MRI. World’s first embedded deep learning MRI. FDA approved and saving lives on 5 continents. Bringing MRI to the 90% of the world that never had it.
Today, 8 years from planting the seed, premieres on the @Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker $HYPR
Absolutely right and indeed urgent. And as @michaelmina_lab would likely note, “testing out” rather than recommending a fixed number of days would also put a degree of agency (& perhaps personal responsibility) in the hands of a +ive individual.
Omicron raises an urgent math problem for epi world & @CDCgov–
Solve for X:
For vaxxed person w/ Omicron, "X"=minimum # of days of isolation that optimizes limiting spread & keeping economy going, assuming rapid test is neg on days X-1 & X.
(Hint: I doubt it's 7-10; my guess ~5)
There are unused vaccines in one half of the world and people desperate to get them in another half, and that's a failure of political will and coordination.
We must get vaccines where they are most needed now #VaccinEquity
An honor to join @TwinForHealth on this journey with Wesray Social and @TheHelenaGroup. Profound implications for improving equity of and access to chronic disease care.

"One of the last things they do before they’re intubated is beg me for the vaccine. I hold their hand and tell them that I’m sorry, but it’s too late.” Alabama has only 33.7% of the population fully vaccinated.
