An illegal Bangladeshi named Moshiur Khan was arrested in Kerala.

It is reported that he was allegedly residing and studying at the Shariathul Islam Madrasa in Kollam district.

A forged Aadhaar card, Voter ID card, and Ration card were recovered from him.

Admissions should never be granted without thorough identity and document verification, whether at a madrasa or any other educational or religious institution. A single lapse in verification can become a national security concern.

Would he get support from celebrities? Would Instagram influencers run campaigns urging the govt to listen to him? Not at all. If anything, he might be physically attacked, and the govt would arrest him for provoking public sentiment and inciting riots. Nobody would call the govt 'oppressive' that time.

Essentially, neither his hunger strike nor his life is what truly matters; only the narrative matters. All of this emotional appeal to rally behind him is not for his sake, but for the sake of the narrative. His supposedly good image among the youth is merely a smokescreen to obscure the agenda driving him forward.

Such kind of support is always transactional. The moment the asset stops serving the ideological goals of the narrative-creators, his moral immunity will be revoked, his 'good image' will be dismantled overnight, and the very same crowd that idolises him would abandon him.

Two days ago, Uttar Pradesh police arrested Nazim, Sadiq and Azhar for luring a Hindu boy into converting by showing him the fear of eternal hellfire. They also offered him a job and wife. Police acted on the complaint of boy’s father Somdutt, who lives in Saharanpur (see UP anti-terrorism squad’s note attached).

I contacted Somdutt but he is too scared to talk to the media.

As per widely accepted interpretation of Islamic texts, non-Muslims will be thrown into hell after the mythical Day of Judgement to burn in fire forever. A Supreme Court lawyer, while arguing for #hijab, told the court last year that women must be allowed hijab in schools else they would face wrath of Allah on Day of Judgement. Means this superstitious belief is not relegated to the illiterate but the most literate section of the community.

This belief, along with another belief that adding people to their religion is a ticket to paradise full of eternal virgins, is the key source of inspiration for Dawah groups, besides money from abroad. In 2021, UP police busted a series of such conversion modules operating in UP and Delhi. One such group had an unaccounted Rs 57 crore donated from abroad.
