Nepal's media is reporting that explosive devices were washed down from Tibet side into Nepal after the floods. What were these devices used for in Tibet side?

Breaking mountains for some construction? Did the Glacier break after one such detonation for tunneling or construction?

Such questions need to be asked. But we can see immediate flood of counter the following way in comments, quotes and community notes:

"This is sensitive time, let's not talk about this."

"This is Indians fear mongering."

"The scientists already said it is GLOF" - two terms - scientists and GLOF suddenly thrown around a lot.

We as Indians should ask questions. Because it is Bihar and UP too affected. Indians too are dead. No commie or their sepoy in any country should be able to guilt trip us into not asking questions or posting our thoughts.

फरक्का जल संधि बिहार के लिए घातक साबित हुई है। गर्मी के मौसम में गंगा बक्सर पहुंचते-पहुंचते सिर्फ 400-500 क्यूमेक रह जाती है, लेकिन संधि के तहत फरक्का पर 1500 क्यूमेक पानी सुनिश्चित करना पड़ता है। इसका मतलब बिहार को अपनी नदियों का पानी बांग्लादेश के लिए छोड़ना पड़ता है। नतीजा यह कि बिहार में भूजल गिर रहा है, सिंचाई प्रभावित हो रही है और पीने के पानी का संकट गहराता जा रहा है।

दूसरी तरफ बरसात में और भी बड़ा नुकसान हो रहा है। फरक्का बैराज के कारण गंगा में भारी गाद जमा हो गई है। नदी का तल ऊंचा हो चुका है और पानी रोकने की क्षमता खत्म हो गई है। पहले जो पानी नदी के अंदर समा जाता था, अब गांवों और खेतों में बाढ़ बनकर फैल जाता है। भागलपुर, मुंगेर और आसपास के जिले हर साल इसकी कीमत चुकाते हैं।

30 साल हो गए इस अन्याय को सहते हुए। अब वक्त आ गया है कि केंद्र सरकार इस संधि को खत्म करे। बिहार की आबादी बढ़ चुकी है, जरूरतें बदल चुकी हैं। नई व्यवस्था में बिहार के हित सबसे ऊपर रखे जाएं। फरक्का संधि अब रद्द हो।

यह संधि दिसंबर 2026 में समाप्त हो रही है। बिहार के हितों को अनदेखा ना करे केंद्र सरकार।

सीधा सवाल यह है कि बिहार के हितों की बलि चढ़ा कर की गई फरक्का जल संधि कब हुई थी? उस समय बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री कौन थे और केंद्र में किसकी सरकार थी? उस समय संधि को क्यों नहीं रोका गया?

पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री @NitishKumar जी तो शुरू से कहते रहे हैं कि फरक्का बराज और फरक्का जल संधि से बिहार को भारी नुकसान हो रहा है।

अब जबकि दिसंबर 1996 में हुई जल संधि की 30 वर्षों की समय सीमा दिसंबर 2026 में समाप्त हो रही है, हमारी पार्टी @Jduonline ने केंद्र सरकार से अपील की है कि यह संधि बिहार के हित में नहीं है, इसलिए इसका नवीनीकरण नहीं होना चाहिए, और राज्य की वर्ष 2050 तक की जल आवश्यकताओं को ध्यान में रखा जाना चाहिए। मैंने राज्यसभा में भी विशेष उल्लेख के तहत यही मांग रखी है।

Thirty years of data show the serious ecological and economic costs of the 1996 Indo-Bangladesh Ganga Water Treaty, particularly for Bihar.

With the treaty expiring on December 12, 2026, the JD(U) position is clear: it must not be renewed in its present form. India should allow it to lapse and negotiate afresh based on the scientifically assessed water needs of Bihar and other basin states up to 2050, with Bihar firmly at the decision-making table.

भारत को बड़ा दिल दिखाने की ग़ज़ब बीमारी है।

अपने कलेजे पर चोट पहुंचा कर दूसरों को ख़ुश कर बड़ा दिल दिखाने का जज़्बा।

पाकिस्तान के साथ सिंधु जल समझौते में ऐसा ही हुआ था।

और बांग्लादेश के साथ फ़रक्का जल संधि में भी।

1996 में तत्कालीन विदेश मंत्री इंद्र कुमार गुजराल ने 'गुजराल डॉक्ट्रिन' के तहत 'बड़ा दिल' दिखाते हुए बांग्लादेश के साथ फरक्का जल संधि की।

इसमें पड़ोसी देशों को एकतरफा रियायत दी गई।

आज जेडीयू के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष संजय झा ने दैनिक जागरण में लेख में कहा कि इसमें बिहार के हितों की बलि चढ़ा दी गई।

उस समय बिहार में लालू यादव के नेतृत्व वाली सरकार भी इस पर मौन रही।

संधि के अनुसार फरक्का बैराज पर शुष्क मौसम में निर्धारित जलप्रवाह बनाए रखने का 73% बोझ अकेले बिहार को उठाना पड़ता है।

जबकि गंगा का 75% जलग्रहण क्षेत्र अपस्ट्रीम राज्यों में है।

1975 में बैराज चालू होने के बाद गाद जमा होने से नदी उथली हो गई है।

जिससे बिहार को मानसून में भीषण बाढ़ और शुष्क मौसम में पानी की भारी किल्लत झेलनी पड़ती है।

गाद और बहाव रुकने से गांगेय डॉल्फिन सहित स्थानीय जलीय जीवों पर संकट मंडरा रहा है।

भूजल स्तर गिरने और आर्सेनिक-फ्लोराइड के बढ़ते स्तर से पेयजल एवं कृषि पर गहरा असर पड़ा है।

दिसंबर 2026 में संधि की 30 वर्ष की अवधि समाप्त हो रही है।

बिहार सरकार ने 2050 तक की आवश्यकताओं का वैज्ञानिक आकलन कर 2,000 क्यूसेक अतिरिक्त जल की मांग की थी, लेकिन केवल 900 क्यूसेक का प्रावधान किया गया।

संजय झा के अनुसार, बिहार के विकास और जल-सुरक्षा के लिए 2050 तक की मांगों का वैज्ञानिक आकलन कर एक नई न्यायसंगत व्यवस्था लागू की जानी चाहिए।
