My latest work in @JournalGIM: In 2 major USMLE Step 1 & 2 Qbanks, vignettes involving patients experiencing homelessness overrepresented HIV, TB, & substance use, underrepresented top causes of death like CV disease & cancer, and often used stigmatizing language. #MedEd#Stigma
That clinical act––of suspending one's own interests and frames to provide care to another person on their terms without requiring they conform to one's own identifications or desires––is itself a political act that's reflective of the radical politics demanded by genuine care.
@EmilyPT_MD@Aetna Totally agreed. I’m glad you were able to access care but the number of obstacles and sheer cost of PEP is impossible for most patients…
"It is always, always a good idea to go and be with a patient." – @gradydoctor, delivers a heartfelt lecture at #AAMC24 highlighting the profound impact of being present with patients. AI may evolve, but humanism remains central to medicine. https://t.co/hjY02Mhgfp
My hope for my mentees, learners, and colleagues is that someday they can work at a place that they love as much as I love Grady Hospital. 🏥🙏🏽🥹

So lucky to work with the matchless @KBreathettMD on this important paper. She's an absolute force in the health equity space and someone I deeply admire. Learned a lot working with her!
Very proud of this work that highlights how "learning from failure" (coined by @dr_brewster) encourages us to examine novel risk factors for the receipt of vascular assessment prior to an amputation.
Congratulations Dr. @maurageorgemd of @EmoryMedicine, this year's #AAMCAwards@GoldFdtn Humanism in Medicine Award recipient. Dr. George is an advocate for equity in medicine and medical education and always puts her patients and students first.
We are excited to announce the publication of our nonpartisan 2022 Health Students Taking Action Together (H-STAT) Georgia Voter Guide: https://t.co/kOZso5CL20
@Dr_Oubre 📣Medicine is imperfect & evolving.
📣Social determinants of health accounts for the majority of health outcomes.
📣Race is not biological nor is it inherently a risk factor for disease.
📣Race is a sociopolitical construct & racism is the risk factor for disease.
