Mamdani: When it comes to Netanyahu, we’re speaking about someone who is the subject of an ICC arrest warrant. He’s the subject of this warrant for alleged crimes against humanity, for war crimes, and he’s the architect of the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
These are not facts of my assessment; they are facts of public record.
If someone is the subject of an ICC arrest warrant for these kinds of crimes, that’s something I believe should be honored. I have also said we will follow our local laws.
How can we hope he has a serious plan for ending "the terrible suffering of people in Gaza" when he can't even bring himself to name Israel as the genocidal aggressor causing the suffering?
We need concrete action:a full arms embargo & an end to trade with illegal settlements.
When I was young I thought things were bad because solutions were complicated, and now I'm older and realize things are bad because the solutions are often simple, but they would inconvenience affluent people, or those who aspire to be, and religious fanatics.
