Update 3 on the upcoming heavy rains for North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra

Whatever said in update 1 and 2 stands good. I have indicated the possibility of stalling of the low pressure once it nears the north TN coast and that might hold true so this is not going to be a one day affair and the rains are possible on 14-17th October with breaks and with some very heavy spells in between.

Hot spot
--------
Hotspot will be from Pondy - Mahabs-Chennai-Pulicat-Nellore- Kavali coast where rains are possible in all 4 days with varying intensity. So KTCC falls perfectly in place for heavy rains.

North Interiors too will join the party

Not only coastal districts will also get heavy rains. Vellore, ranipet, Tirupattur, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Salem, Namakkal, Kaallakuruchi, Cuddalore, Erode, Dharmapuri, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri and even Bangalore all these places might get atleast 1 heavy rains in the next 4 days.

When the rains will start

Rains will start tomorrow (monday morning or noon) timing of start is bit difficult to say. Overall as we go into Tuesday and Wednesday on big day of rains is awaited as the low / depression is expected to have a very dense clouds in the west and so that dense clouds might fall over KTCC dumping lot of rains.

Will this become a cyclone?

Sea near Chennai / NTN coasts are warm with 30+C and are ideal for intensification. Can it become a named cyclone, i am not sure. But Depression chances are very high i feel. Winds wont be a worry like Michaung, even if it becomes a cyclone, it will be a weak one. Rains are the main threat.
