When I entered business in 2016 as MSME - I have to pay:

VAT 5%
CST 2%
Excise 12.36%
Service Tax ~ 12 to 14%
+CESS

on different input raw materials & services.

But, when I sell my product, I can take input credit only for 5%. Rest of them went to drain.

#GST helped us a lot.
