It’s not just some women in that room, you made many men teary-eyed. @smritiirani , including me.
The pain & pleasure of being a mother.
So powerfully & emotionally articulated.
I have only one point of dissonance:
I adored & cared for my mother till her last breath.
Because I had immense gratitude for what you termed the ‘tenacity’ of her love.
Even in my lowest periods she made me feel like I could move mountains.
Not a day goes by when I don’t derive strength from her memory.
Your son will be no different, I’m sure.
NEET-UG 2026 results are out, and so is the story of India’s medical education transformation.
• 1.36 lakh MBBS seats available this year, around 10,000 more than in 2025.
• In 2014, there were only about 51,000 MBBS seats.
• India now has 823 medical colleges, up from 387 in 2014.
In just 12 years, MBBS seats have nearly tripled, while the government continues to plug loopholes and strengthen the integrity of the NEET examination process.
More colleges. More seats. More opportunities for aspiring doctors.
No government has expanded access to medical education at this scale. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s healthcare and education infrastructure has witnessed a historic transformation.
What Were the Final Days of Swami Vivekananda Like?
Swami Vivekananda passed away in 1902 at the age of just 39. It was 9:10 p.m. at Belur Math. At that time, neither Belur Math nor the nearby villages had electricity, although there was a telephone. Yet no news reporters arrived, and remarkably, none of the newspapers published in Bengal carried the news of his death the following day. Nor did any prominent political leader or celebrated Bengali publicly express condolences. It is astonishing to think about. 🔴
Throughout his short life, Swami Vivekananda endured humiliation, neglect, and repeated rejection. After his father's death, he became entangled in legal disputes with relatives over family property and had to appear in court on numerous occasions.
His family lived in extreme poverty. Every morning he would leave home in search of employment, wandering from office to office. Many days, knowing there was no rice, lentils, oil, or salt at home to feed his mother, brothers, and sisters, he would tell his mother, "Don't cook for me today, Mother. I've been invited to a friend's house for dinner." In reality, there was no invitation. He often went hungry so that the rest of the family could eat. It is almost unimaginable. 🍂
He struggled with poverty throughout his life. At the age of 23, he secured a teaching position at the Metropolitan Institution, founded by Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. However, the headmaster—Vidyasagar's son-in-law—disliked Narendra Nath Datta and reportedly had him dismissed, alleging that he did not teach well. This happened despite his extraordinary intellect, scholarship, and eloquence.
Once again, he found himself unemployed.
Even abroad, a Bengali religious leader allegedly spread false rumours that Vivekananda had several wives, ten or twelve children, and was nothing more than a fraud and a gambler. 💥
He often endured hunger both in India and overseas. In one of his letters, he wrote:
"Many times I have passed days without food. I felt that perhaps I would die that very day. Then I would rise, crying, 'Victory to Brahman!' and declare: 'I have no fear. I know neither death nor hunger. I am beyond thirst. What power does the world have to destroy me?'"
When the ailing Swami Vivekananda returned to Calcutta after achieving worldwide acclaim, many prominent Bengalis reportedly declined to attend or organise a public reception in his honour. Eventually, Paryichand Mitra agreed but is said to have remarked that since Vivekananda was a Kayastha rather than a Brahmin, he could not truly be a monk and would therefore address him merely as "Brother Vivekananda."
By 1898, Americans were deeply inspired by his speeches and writings, while many in his own homeland remained indifferent.
That same year, the sick Swami consulted the renowned physician Dr. Rasiklal Dutt at his clinic on Sadar Street in Calcutta. The doctor reportedly charged him forty rupees as a consultation fee and another ten rupees for medicines—a considerable sum in those days. The money was paid by Swami Brahmananda from funds collected for Belur Math.
There is no known photograph of Swami Vivekananda after his death. Nor is there an officially preserved death certificate, despite the existence of the Bally–Belur Municipality at the time. Ironically, that same municipality imposed an amusement tax on Belur Math.
Some people even mocked the monastery, dismissing it as a gathering place for idle young men and using insulting nicknames such as "Bichitra Ananda" or "Bibi-ka-Ananda"—
Perhaps that is why, toward the end of his life, he is said to have remarked:
"Only another Vivekananda could truly understand what this Vivekananda has accomplished."
Today, Swami Vivekananda is revered across India and around the world. Yet during his own lifetime, he endured poverty, insults, and neglect. One might even wonder whether, had he witnessed some of today's displays of admiration, he would have dismissed them as empty gestures

Italy is also a democracy like India. Millions don't like and didn't vote PM Meloni in Italy.
Yet, when Trump recently made a silly remark about Meloni "begging to take pics with him", the whole country, including opposition, have stood behind her.
Nobody is mocking her using Trump's comments. Nobody is saying she has made Italy look weak. None in Italy is taking the side of Trump mocking their PM for some silly political gratification.
Everyone knows Mahadev Ji forgives but have you heard Nandi Ji forgiving anyone who's given pain to Mahadev Ji?
.@AmitShah Ji has just proved that. His vengeance against some CHINDIs is not only political but personal.
👉It started with Uddhav Thackeray.
Uddhav abandoned alliance with BJP in greed of power for himself, joined hans with the CONgress & NCP.
This was Political. No issues with that.
BUT THEN.... Uddhav, Aditya & Sanjay Raut went overboard. Abused PM .@narendramodi Ji on personal level. Used such language for Modi Ji that was worse than even Italians in CONgress.
Now this became Personal.
Mota Bhai replied at right time. Broke Shiv Sena. 40+ MLAs & MPs rebelled, formed a separate faction, got Party & Symbol. Crushed Uddhav in Assembly Election. Decimated him to just 20 MLAs in Assembly. Then snatched Uddhav's Money Purse by winning BMC. And now... 6 out of 9 MPs of Uddhav Gang are on way to join Eknath Shinde Ji's Real Shiv Sena & NDA.
Only place left now for Uddhav, his Incompetent Son & Sanjay Raut is Antartica.
👉Then came Sharad Pawar.
Sharad, himself sent Ajit Dada to BJP to form Govt in Maharashtra in 2019 when Uddhav was throwing tantrums. In return, Sharad wanted very imp Agriculture Ministry at Centre for his daughter Supriya. Anticipating likely corruption hurting the whole Nation, Modi Ji refused the offer. In return, Sharad told his MLAs to not support Ajit Dada in forming Govt. Govt collapsed within 48 hrs, Ajit Dada was made to look like a fool.
This was Political. No issues.
But then Sharad mocked Modi Ji. Used abusive language for Modi Ji & BJP.
Now it became Personal.
Mota Bhai again replied at right time. Got NCP split with a 2/3rd majority, Ajit Dada joined the Mahayuti Sarkar as Deputy CM, retained the party symbol, power, and key posts. Sharad literally became orphan in a party which he himself had formed. Decimated Sharad Gang to just 10 MLAs (he contested 86 seats). Ajit Dada passed away in unfortunate accident, Sharad tried to take back control on NCP taking advantage of the tragedy. Mota Bhai observed. Convinced Sunetra Vahini to take oath in Ajit Dada's position as Dy CM & failed Sharad's attempts again. Today, Sharad is in such pathetic condition that he is forced to plead CONgress for a merger to safeguard future of his 'good for nothing' daughter Supriya Sule.
3.5 Districts ka PM is now confined to become Doormat of 0.5 village.
👉Now comes Mamata Bano.
Fierce opponent of BJP. PM aspirant dreaming of overthrowing Modi Ji.
This was Political. No issues.
Mamata Bano & her jokers...Abhishek Banerjee, Derek O'Brien, Mahua Moitra & Kalyan Banerjee mocked Modi Ji multiple times. Used unparliamentary & derogative language for Modi Ji. Challenged Modi Ji & Mota Bhai to show guts to come to Kolkata after 4 June results.
Now it became Personal.
Mota Bhai not only won Bengal for BJP, but has literally finished TMC today. 20 of 28 MPs rebelled, merged with Tripura's small NCPI, claimed a two thirds majority, met the Speaker, and backed the NDA in the Parliament. 64/80 MLAs rebelled, now claiming them to be real TMC, will now apply to get Party & Symbol which they will easily get. 3 mayors resigned till date. 4 RS MPs resigned, will come back on BJP Symbol. TMC goons getting arrested, thrashed & welcomed with eggs. Bhaipo making daily rounds of Police Stations, CID office & ED office. Mamata Bano in such pathetic condition today that 'even' CONgress is not ready to take her.
Only destination left for Mamata Bano now is... Bangladesh.
Modi Ji is soft hearted. He forgives. Mota Bhai doesn't.
Ps- Imagine what's coming up for Italians who have crossed all language limits in targeting Modi Ji. I get shivers thinking about it. Waqt toh sabka aayega.
@Iam_Rohit_G@MandarSawant184 It should be Shinde and UBT Sena MPs . MPs wanting to break off should join that party .
I wouldn’t want Shinde becoming stronger .
The DS identified this man as a major threat to their easy manipulation of India very early on. They desperately tried to stop him from ever leading the country.
The moment he became CM, they ignited issues, branded him with every possible label, attempted to sanction him, and even revoked his visas.
They unleashed tens of thousands of pages of propaganda reports against him, both inside India and abroad. They weaponised the opposition and the courts to flood him with cases from every direction.
Yet he overcame it all. To become the PM of the world’s largest democracy. Despite all the hit jobs, sabotage, and propaganda, he remains the most popular leader on the planet.
He has turned every adversity into an advantage. "Being Anti-fragile" is his mantra. And he has made India anti-fragile too. We have seen the nation emerge stronger from every crisis thrown at it.
I believe he will also resolve the infowar crisis. The main force behind it will be weakened and broken by him. It will be a fitting feather in his cap before he retires as not only India’s longest serving PM, but its most impactful one.
History will remember him as the one who transformed India not just in infrastructure and development, but forged a confident, self-reliant nation that stands proud on the global stage.
Why blame the BJP every time a rival party loses members, when parties like Congress, TMC, DMK themselves seem unable to hold together the cadres they claim are united by ideology?
K Annamali has in-depth knowledge of Mahabharata.. How beautifully he has described Bharat ..
Hoping Tamilnadu will give him what he deserves and respects and honours him... He has too much of regards for Modiji and moving away from Modiji to be on his own for the sake of Tamil Nadu are the qualities of a true patriot ❤️
As he is on his own now I hope he gets the required financial support from the people of TN because he is not Joseph Vijay he is the son of a farmer
