A PAW-SOME COVER STORY 🐶✨
Vogue Philippines has unveiled its first-ever “Dogue” cover featuring Banca, a rescued Philippine forest dog adopted by photographer and artist Shaira Luna.
Luna first encountered Banca during an overnight trip to Cavinti, Laguna, in July, when the young dog was found with a metal chain tightly embedded in her neck.
After the chain was removed, Banca developed a severe infection, prompting Luna and her photography team to bring her to a veterinarian for treatment.
Now part of Luna’s household of 10 dogs, Banca has grown to nearly twice the size of her companions. Despite her size, she remains gentle and affectionate, often welcoming visitors with full-body hugs.
The special cover celebrates rescue dogs and highlights Banca’s journey from a local cabin in Laguna to a loving home and the pages of Vogue Philippines.
