The dog is question just existed. He didnโt bark, didnโt pester, didnโt bite. He just quietly existed. He was well fed and loved by all of us for last 6- 7 years. The cruelty towards the dog is mindnumbingly horrifying because why would you do that to a dog that did no wrong
That's Mickey - a beautiful innocent soul I used to see when walking around our apartment society in Mumbai - Raheja Exotica, Madh Island.
Some residents paid a society housekeeping staff to beat him to death, stuff him in a gunny bag and dispose of him.
Was holding back from posting this for the last 3 days due to the police investigation that is underway there.
But this is the reality of India today.
Today it's 'just a dog'.
Tomorrow one of these residents could do this to your own child. Once they have blood on their hands, they will stop at nothing. Such is hatred.
See these street dogs
They are sitting calmly while the humans are aggressive. They wag their tails, are happy with a kind glance . How can they be removed and killed
In Brazil when a community dog was k!lled, millions stormed the street! Today a law is passed that punishes the parents of minors involved in animal abuse. Unlike corrupt @indSupremeCourt that wanted to punish feeders for provoked attacks by animals. Shame on our institutions!
How much hatred does it take to attack an innocent, defenseless sleeping dog?
Today it was Mickey,
tomorrow a vulnerable human.

So, a dog can be brutally murdered but people like this will still judge others for raising their voice.
Ours is a decayed society where even speaking out against injustice is not encouraged.
Today, another horrific incident has come to light.
The brutal killing of community dog Mickey, highlighted by @ManjariFadnis is not an isolated incident.

Mickey is simply one of the few cases that received public attention.
This is the direct consequence of ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฃ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ข๐จ๐ฅ๐ง'๐ฆ ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐๐ฅ that has allowed hostility against community dogs to become normalized.
India's streets have become ๐ธ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ด๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ for community dogs.
Dogs are beaten to death, poisoned, tortured, dragged away, and murdered in broad daylight. The people who try to protect them are abused, threatened, and in many cases subjected to rape threats and intimidation.

Please save us from corrupt politicians and corrupt judges who have abandoned their duty while animals are tortured and killed every day. The system has failed. The law has failed. Justice has failed.

Stating this again: there is no law that allows you to beat an animal, leave alone beat them to death.
Whoever thought this could be done is a threat to not just dogs but society in general because their perception is simply to destroy whatever they think is dangerous, irrespective of law and regulations.
@MumbaiPolice@PetaIndia
This matter has to be taken in consideration. We cannot live amongst psychopaths who kill innocent voiceless beings.
Please take action against it.
To,
The Honโble Supreme Court of India,
I urge the Honโble Court to recognise this fundamental truth: animalsโlike bulls, dogs, & countless othersโdo not attack human beings unprovoked.
They endure incredible crueltyโhunger, thirst, beatings, torture, even deathโyet they do not retaliate.
The notion that dogs or other animals attack humans is based on a false premise. In fact, Nature has made them inherently wary of humansโthey instinctively avoid us, from the fiercest lion or tiger to the smallest bird.
I urge the Honโble Apex Court to put an end to the exploitation & violence being inflicted upon these innocent, defenceless beings.
Justice cannot exist where the voiceless are tortured.

I am sure soon I'll be so done with this God forsaken country that I won't give a flying fuck about it. Mickey, a docile sterilised dog brutally beaten to death. So much pain given to an innocent life ๐๐ญ
This is on you Justice Mehta. Hope you get your karma๐ค
If you live in an apartment society/gated community that hates animals - you are putting your own children at risk. What they do to animals - they will do to your own children too.
The entire 3-4 day period before and after Mickey went missing - the CCTV footage of the basement parking is mysteriously not available due to 'maintenance'. The recorder has now been seized and sent for forensics.
Imagine this was your own child who went for a walk inside your community and went missing? And the child alive or dead body wasn't found. And they told you the CCTV footage is not available.
Do you want to share a space with fellow residents who would go to such an extent? Think. How safe are you in your hard earned EMI house?
Heartbreaking to imagine the kind of cruelty humans can indulge in on these voiceless animals. There needs to be stricter penalties and relook the PCA.
Indian dogs are just as loving and loyal and innocent as dogs anywhere in the world. Why does this keep happening?
