Last week, our monthly STAR Community Advisory Committee meeting was shut down by staff at DDPHE who were unwilling to listen to or address experiences of racism within the program. SCAC members have issued a statement on the events for transparency and accountability

Just now, Dani Peters with @DDPHE abruptly ended our monthly STAR meeting bc they didn’t want to hear from BIPOC folks about our issues with a pattern of racism, exclusion, and gate-keeping in the STAR program

STAR is expanding. That’s a good thing.
